The boiler chain base, professionally known as the grate bar clamp or boiler chain guide base plate, is not an isolated component, but a heavy-duty rigid frame system consisting of multiple longitudinal beams (side beams, middle beams) and cross beams connected by high-strength bolts and fixed to the boiler steel frame.
Component Name Materials and Processes Main Functions and Features
Edge beam (guide rail beam on both sides) Heavy duty I-beams, H-beams, or special cast/welded beams are often covered with wear-resistant guide plates on the surface. The main tracks on both sides of the grate directly guide the chain to travel, requiring extremely high straightness, parallelism, and wear resistance.
Middle beam (wind chamber partition beam) Box beams welded with channel steel, I-beams, or steel plates. Divide the space below the base into multiple independent air chambers to achieve segmented air supply. The top surface of the beam also serves as the intermediate support track for the chain.
Cross beam (connecting beam) Channel steel or I-beam. Connect all longitudinal beams horizontally to fasten the entire base structure as a whole, preventing deformation and enhancing rigidity.
Support and adjustment device Including adjustable supports, pads, and anchor bolts. The key part! Used for leveling, correcting the levelness and elevation of the base, and compensating for thermal expansion during operation to ensure long-term flatness of the track.
Sealed structure Asbestos packing, flexible graphite, metal sealing sheet, etc. Installed in the gaps between the side beams, furnace walls, and various beams to prevent air leakage from the air chamber and ensure air distribution efficiency.
